What To Do About Eyebrow Arches?

Often times a home will feature a beautiful eyebrow arch that provides extra light to your space. While the added light is usually a benefit, the heat that it brings with it can sometimes be more than you bargained for. One of the most elegant ways to redirect the heat that we offer is a plantation shutter.

There are many different configurations of shutters so we'll go over the three most popular options our customers' request. Those are the knob operable arch, the full panel arch, and the sunburst arch. Each of these options has its own benefits that can be more appealing depending on your window situation.

The Knob Arch

The knob operable arch has a knob on the right side that moves up and down. By moving the knob, the panel behind the fixed arch will move to allow light through or block the light. If your window is harder to reach this may be a benefit as it does come with an operation pole so you can have the exact amount of light that you want entering your room.

The Full Panel Arch

The full panel arch is a shutter that has the top frame molded to the shape of the window opening. While the panels may still have divider rails so each section operates independently, moving the bottom louver of the section will move that entire section. For homes that already have shutters throughout, this option is ideal as you can have all your panels operate the same way. If your panels are tall, however, the top section of louvers may be a little more difficult to move.

The Sunburst Arch

The sunburst arch is a unique covering. Each of the louvers in the arch is individually adjustable. Due to the fact that there are many louvers, most customers leave them set to a certain position. Unlike the knob arch, this style does have hinges that allow you to open the arch forward. Many customers like this feature as it allows for easier cleaning of the upper window area.

Without a doubt, arched shutters add a finished look that our customers have come to love over the years. Their timeless design matches almost any house theme and decor. At Blinds 4 Less we know each window in your home is as unique as you are. That is why we strive to make sure that the shutter configuration that you select will fit your needs.
